The firing of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was predicted nearly a century ago by H.L. Mencken. One of the more influential authors from the first half of the twentieth century, Mencken published an editorial in the July 26, 1920 edition of the Baltimore Evening Sun, which among other things stated:
“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”
The reason for the termination of Tillerson was obvious. The two men did not think alike. And last summer, Tillerson referred to our Manchurian Candidate as a “moron.” Truth―the arrow that pierces every lie―had struck home, and Trump made the decision to fire Tillerson when he first learned of Tillerson’s damaging truth. This coward was just waiting for an appropriate time for someone else to deliver news of the sacking.
Trump fits the stereotype of the second grader who lurks in the shadows, waiting for an opportunity to beat up seven-year old girls, and then runs for cover when six-year old boys come out to play. He waited until Tillerson was out of the country to have someone else deliver the news; exactly as he handled the firing of former FBI Director Jim Comey, who was in California when the termination letter (signed by someone in the Justice Department) arrived. Likewise, the coward retreated to the shadows again after White House Counsel Don McGahn refused to fire Robert Mueller.
Trump has announced CIA Director Mike Pompeo as Tillerson’s successor. In a normal administration, Pompeo would be a good fit. He graduated first in his class at West Point, and held a position with a prestigious law firm before entering politics. However, the problem lies not in his ability, but in his pledge of total loyalty to an idiot. Anyone who refuses to render a “Sieg Heil” to self-styled Emperor Donald Trump will be shown the door. Trump is now well on his way to filling his cabinet with a stable of submissive “Stepford Wives.” This disaster is now unfolding before our very eyes.
Trump touts himself as a successful businessperson. In reality, he is a failure. His casinos and airline all tanked…big time, to the tune of $950 million in losses. His condominiums around the world only succeeded after being populated by Russian residents with Russian loans. His primary success, the Trump brand, is buttressed by the kind of fraud that only a carnival barker and grifter could provide. Now, with idiotic Groupthink as the mantra, America is headed for failure of historic proportion.
Everyone with a Twitter account has seen how the mind of Donald Trump works. His psychotic and impulsive actions are rather scary. His mind is broken. And now he has a legion of advisors who will provide obedient government service from the same playbook. William H. Whyte, Jr. created the term “Groupthink” in a 1952 edition of Fortune Magazine, but it was Irving Janis who pioneered research on the groupthink theory. Janis concluded that groupthink is a destructive phenomenon whereby groups of people form an association and start to think collectively as one mind. If Americans are not frightened by the idea that the “idiot mind” is in control of all government levers, they should be.
With the governmental oath of office being ignored, and the rule of reason in full flight, you can put solid money on National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster soon getting the axe. McMaster uttered another damaging truth―that Donald Trump is an idiot. Our constitutional republic will pay a steep price for this regime of bootlickers.
