Maybe PastorDan will have some words with me, I confess I have not been to the SP for a while, but I have to air this out. What I saw last night in Minneapolis scares me to my core.
There is a reason that religion should be separated from state that goes far beyond tax exemptions and orders from the king. It is because in 2008, many people who think for themselves have left the church, and for many of the same reasons left the Republican party. Palin's speech, and her nomination indicate to me the greatest visceral fear I have ever experienced in my concept of politics. Those people cheering, deer in the headlights, don't know or care about reality, but they love to hear what they already believe.
This country will be utterly destroyed by people who only see, only hear, only believe the things they already think they know, even when evidence indicates otherwise. And Sarah Palin is the worst example of a flawed leader who has been elevated to a position of reverence without demonstrable cause. But people believe....
